Milestone Session with Newport Beach Newborn and Family Photographer
Somehow six months went by and it’s already time for baby Kash’s milestone session in the studio. If you missed his newborn session, catch up here! Kash is melting hearts with his smile and baby blue eyes, and my goodness is he sweet. He, along with the rest of the Moore family, make my job as a Newport Beach newborn and family photographer a dream.
Every time I do a session with Ashleigh and her sweet family I am just in awe of the mother she is and the sweet babies she is raising. There is just a joy she has about her that trickles down to her children and I love being able to document the bond they all share. Big sister joined us for Kash’s milestone session and the two of them together could not have been any sweeter.
Ashleigh borrowed a dress from the client wardrobe and looked beautiful. There’s one photo that I took of her and Kash that really reminded me what motherhood is all about, and why I feel so strongly about mamas getting in photos with their little ones. I shared it on my Instagram recently, along with a quote I came across that literally made me cry.
“So for now, I find beauty in the peaceful 4am feedings in our cozy little nursery. It’s just me and my little baby, the neighborhood is dark and still. We snuggle together under a blanket and I rock her back to sleep. It’s 4am and I am exhausted and frustrated, but it’s ok, she needs me. Just me. And maybe, I need her too. Because she makes me Mommy. Someday she will sleep through the night. Someday I will sit in my wheelchairs, my arms empty, dreaming of those quiet nights in the nursery. When she needed me and we were the only two people in the world.” -Megan Minneman Morton
Some day my baby won’t need me, to help her, to hold her hand, to wipe her tears. But right now she does and maybe yours does too. Every day is a gift with our babies no matter how difficult the days may be.
Slow down. Find the joy in the seemingly mundane of the day-to-day. Make memories. And Mama, get in the photos.
